And in my fourth year of living in Cape Town, the Table Mountain hike was finally done.
Exhausting and exhilarating.
Fatigue-inducing but fun.
Physically draining yet refreshing.
The plan was to have began hiking by 8am. Big big mistake. It was a high of 30-something degrees that day and by 8 the sun was already scorching! And then, the minor issue of not actually having started at 8 but at 9am. *ahem* We should have began hiking before 6am!
We began the hike in a group of about 12 people. By the time we were getting to the top we had fragmented into little groups of about 2-3 depending on our pace. I was somewhere in the middle. Not as fit as I’d like to think I am. LOL.
The heat made the hike taxing. Also, I hadn’t had breakfast because I left the house in a big rush. So many times I thought to myself: ‘I did NOT sign up for this’. But the view at the top made it all worth it.
I haven’t edited the pictures. They are straight from my phone. I would have liked to do a slight edit on some of them but time is not being nice to me at the moment.

This made me nostalgic. Waking up to a view of table mountain every morning was beautiful!
